I am reposting this recipe because over time I have made some changes and thought it a good idea. The changes have made it more of a paste than a slurry (which didn’t work very well). I know most people don’t appreciate the taste of this particular spice, but it has the most beneficial properties for anyone suffering from a lot of pain.
When I was in extreme pain, I took a LOT of pain killers. It wasn’t until I was given this recipe and found out about turmeric and all its wonderful benefits that I started to use it. I am totally blown away by how well it works and how quickly.
If you are experiencing pain, you should try this recipe – although saying this, you might want to add my Chai Tea Latte recipe to it to get it down! Turmeric on its own isn’t very pleasant, however, tweak it a bit and you will still get all the benefits with good taste too!
Turmeric Paste Recipe - Updated (AIP, Paleo, Dairy and Refined Sugar Free)
- 1/2 Cup Dried Turmeric
- 1 Cup Water Filtered
- Pinch - 1-1/2 Tsp Pepper
Place all ingredients into a medium saucepan.
Heat on medium-high until the mixture reaches a boil.
Turn down heat to medium to medium-low (should still have bubbles) and cook for 6-8 minutes, or until it thickens.
Store in mason jar with tight fitting lid in the refrigerator.
You can add another 1/2 cup of filtered water once you have finished making your paste if it is too thick.
To use: place 1 tsp. of the turmeric recipe in hot tea, mix with a dash cinnamon (if tolerated) and honey to taste. Take this 3 times a day to help with your condition.
