Chai Tea Latte (AIP, Paleo, Dairy and Refined Sugar Free)

After using my turmeric recipe in my tea along with full fat coconut milk and cinnamon for a while, I found it to be quite gritty. A lot of people don’t like the taste, but when you have an issue with taking any kind of drugs for pain, you’ll resort to anything that will help.

I decided to try an AIP Chai Tea Latte that I found on the internet and used it for a while before landing on this recipe. The one on the internet includes cinnamon, but as I have a latex allergy, cinnamon is a no-no, so have decided to eliminate it and make my own version. I’ve been enjoying this tea twice a day.

Chai Tea Latte (AIP, Paleo, Dairy and Refined Sugar-free)

Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 Cups Green Tea decaffienated
  • 1 tsp. Turmeric Recipe (see link)
  • 1 Tbsp Coconut Oil
  • Maple Syrup to taste (Optional)
  • 1/4 tsp. Ground Ginger
  • 1/8 tsp. Ground Mace
  • 1/3 tsp. Ground Cloves
  • 1 tsp. Carob Powder

Instructions

  1. Make tea and brew for 10-15 minutes (your preference of strength). If you prefer stronger tea, use 2 tea bags.
  2. Mix remaining ingredients in container for your immersion blender or container for Nutribullet or Ninja.
  3. Once brewed add tea to container and blend for at least 15-20 seconds (be careful -with your immersion blender as it may spill over).
  4. Carefully pour into large cup and enjoy.
