Homemade Toilet Bowl Cleaner Bombs

I think you know by now that I’m into making a lot of my cleaners so I don’t have to deal with “chemicals”.

Well, the toilet bowl cleaner bombs recipe below is no different and can help make life very much easier for everyone, and you will know exactly what is going into it.

This one only contains 3 ingredients and can be made in a few minutes, although you will have to wait for them to dry before using them!

So without further ado, let’s get to this recipe which I found once again on Mom4Real.com.

Homemade Toilet Bowl Cleaner Bombs

Homemade, chemical free toilet bowl cleaning bombs.

  • 1 Cup Baking Soda
  • 1/4 Cup Citric Acid
  • 1 Tbsp Dish liquid (I used Dawn)

  1. Place dry ingredients into a large bowl.

  2. Add 1 tbsp. dish liquid and mix together thoroughly using either your hands, a whisk, or a spoon.

  3. Press the mixture into an ice cube tray.

  4. Let dry overnight.

  5. Once dried, carefully pop them out of the tray and store in an airtight container.

  6. When you need to use them, drop one in your toilet and watch it do its work.

Recipe Notes

You will need an ice cube tray(s) to form the cleaner bombs.

You'll notice that in my picture the bombs actually extended to over the ice cube tray. If this happens, scoop out the excess and place in another tray. I actually wound up with 2 trays of bombs. This is normal for the action of the baking soda and citric acid working with the liquid dish soap. Below are the trays after modifying the distribution.
