Simple Homemade Chest Rub


With cold and flu season soon to be upon us, this recipe could come in handy. The ingredients are all natural and I find it helps me when I have a tight chest.

Simple Homemade Chest Rub

Extra Equipment: Small container with a tight fitting lid
Course Essential Oils, Personal Care

Prep Time 5 minutes
Total Time 5 minutes


  • 2 Tbsp Coconut oil or Palm Shortening
  • 12 drops Essential Oils see below for the essential oils to use


  1. Place oil/shortening in a small container
  2. Add 7-12 drops essential oil as follows: 4 drops eucalyptus, 2 drops peppermint, 2 drops rosemary, 4 drops lavender (or adjust amounts to suit your needs).
  3. Mix well and apply to chest area to test strength of oils.
  4. Place lid on container and store in cupboard.
  5. Use as needed.

Recipe Notes

You can use more or less of the essential oils according to the strength you need.
